Now you can let go of shyness as I believe you have achieved the means to open up without offending others.
Why today then? For today we enter the month of Elul. This is so important this year.
Jewish tradition suggests that during Elul “The King is in the field.” The King is a metaphor for God.
During the year, the King lives in his castle from where he observes and converses with the workers of his lands in a sometimes distant way, and on the other hand the workers are very busy cultivating and harvesting the material fruits of the land.
But during Elul the King goes out to the "field". The King comes closer to us, makes himself more accessible to listen to us, if we want to talk to him. We don't need to be perfect, we just need to take the first step, turn towards God and speak.
The month of Elul is a time to reflect constructively, to ask for forgiveness and give it, to grow thanks to better knowledge of ourselves, to return to seeing new beginnings.
Teshuvah (Heb.) means to return, to turn, which is the meaning of the month of Elul.
