This morning, with congregation Or Ammim, I lived the most exciting Simchat Torah of my life!
I know, in the past I have been so lucky to celebrate Simchat Torah in real beautiful shuls, such as West London Synagogue, with real scrolls passed around among wonderful real people.
But, fulfilling the saying 'making a virtue out of necessity', our Rabbina Ariel J Friedlander, facing the impossibility for all of us to gather together in a joyous Hakkafah, gave us this video, and in a perfect Italian! And we are real people, growing a Jewish community and feeling connected precisely by these experiences. So, honestly, during these difficult times, to have this wonderful gift from Ariel (so proud of you Tuki!) and her contributors, made my celebration of this joyous time of our Torah cycle so incredibly special!
Indeed, my heart was dancing to the Israeli music even though I was sitting on a chair and looking at a zoom screen. Maybe this is why the words of Torah that we read, the last ones and especially the first ones of Bereshit, would sound to me so full of life!
