The Moretti couple are the owners of the restaurant in Crans Montana, tragically known for the fire that killed 40 people and injured many others on New Year's Eve in Switzerland.
We know well that the Swiss authorities have so far given a lot of freedom to the Morettis to continue their entrepreneurial and private life.
This morning I read in the newspaper that Jacques Moretti attacked his wife Jessica Maric, who ended up in hospital.
I read that their lawyers attribute this violence to the tension created around the couple following the Constellation events.
I have no words.
I see here a crossover of two realities:
Some defense of criminals have no shame in their statements, even going so far as to blame the victims.
There is no limit to the shameful justifications that violent people give for their aggressions, either verbal or physical.
I don't really know what happened between the spouses, and I don't know what the victim actually reported, but I believe that "shifting the problem" - that is, unloading one's frustrations on people or situations other than the real source that causes them - is at the basis of the violence of our times.
