This morning I felt immense joy, and I was definitely enchanted as I exchanged a cordial greeting with an acquaintance of mine, H, under the arcades of Corso Canalchiaro in Modena.
We hadn't seen each other for a few months, and this kind, distinguished, elderly gentleman - husband, father and grandfather - recognized me and we start chatting pleasantly.
Speaking of holidays, after mentioning his experiences this summer he asks me about mine, and I tell him about my plan to go to Valtopina (Perugia) for a couple of days to visit the Embroidery and Fabric Exhibition, these passions of mine being an integral part of my work.
H seems for a moment captivated by a thought that goes beyond the immediate, beyond automatic listening and perhaps the usual question of what I produce with these arts, for example.
Looking into my eyes, he imagines and describes the relaxing, reflective power of embroidery, like – he adds – knitting… even for a man. I enthusiastically agree, and I ask him if he remembers a few years ago that young Olympic athlete, I think a British swimmer, who used to knit during the breaks in the competitions.
It is enchanting to discover that a man, a person with such a "classic" appearance, has such an open soul as to rejoice in a moment to share a new idea, outside the box, just aimed at seeking mental well-being.
So I go on with H and add that in fact my approach to fabric and embroidery is precisely that of a time of creative meditation, which perhaps derives from the love for meditation which is the basis of the Massage that I practice in my other world, the one dedicated to my vocation, Ayurvedic Pleasure.
Hence another surprise! H tells me about his passion for Yoga, Reiki and how every morning before getting up he practices self-massage to awaken his body.
You know something? Life is beautiful, and this morning, in this brief exchange, H and I were like two dolphins, finding joy in communicating about things in which they “recognize” the other person. Promoting communication between different people, different generations, for a common good, is the purpose of my life.
And I immediately made an object out of it! You see it here Yoga Walking Pillow
